Putin says COVID-19 shows need in safety approach change
MOSCOW, Jun 3 (PRIME) -- The start of the COVID-19 pandemic in Russia demonstrated the need to change reaction to the situations threatening people's health, President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday at a meeting to discuss the light industry.
"What I wanted to emphasize: the situation at the beginning of the epidemic showed that we need to adjust the approach to reaction to large challenges in the sphere of people's health," Putin said.
He said that this concerns mask production, as well as the other issues. Putin offered to discuss changes in the state reserves of goods.
Russia needs to protect interests of 300,000 light industry workers. "Now, during this hardship, it is crucial to protect interests of the workers, labor collectives, keep the income and wellbeing of Russian families," he said.
